Division Refrigeration Manager

Job Summary:

The primary role of the Distribution Center Receiving Manager is to supervise the daily receiving procedures in a wholesale HVAC distributorship, ensuring the effective receiving, placement, and handling of goods. The key focus of this position is on enhancing service quality, decreasing errors, and maintaining operational excellence. This individual will oversee a team, manage warehouse organization, track productivity metrics, and enforce safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and govern the everyday receiving operations, which include overseeing inbound freight, LTL cargo, and inputting receiving data electronically.
• Implement a receipt process that adheres to a 48-hour timeframe, ensuring meticulous scrutiny of documentation, system records, and physical placement of goods.
• Investigate and correct any irregularities in received shipments, such as damages, shortages, or overages.
• Team up with vendors and different departments internally to tackle recurring issues with the arrival of goods.
• Manage the ongoing maintenance and updates of critical inventory areas, including slotting, consolidation, and bin placements.
• Arrange inbound shipments and carrier appointments efficiently by leveraging technology tools like Opendock.
• Educate and prepare warehouse staff on the right way to handle goods, operate machinery, and comply with company guidelines.
• It is essential to regularly inspect and maintain all warehouse equipment to guarantee its proper operation.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on productivity measures such as fill rates, accuracy and timeliness of inventory placement, and compliance with regulations.
• Sustain a hygienic and orderly workplace by adhering to daily sanitation procedures.
• Direct the management of damage control procedures and facilitate cooperation with service centers to resolve any outstanding issues.
• Oversee the hiring, training, and appraisal of workers, acknowledging strong performance and dealing with underperformance accordingly.
• Execute administrative functions such as generating reports, managing training sessions, and supervising compliance protocols.
• Execute additional duties as demanded or directed.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Candidates must have at least a high school diploma or GED, and a Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related subject is desirable.
• The position necessitates applicants to have 2-4 years of experience in the day-to-day functions of wholesale, distribution, or logistics, preferably in the HVAC sector.
• A strong foundation in shipping, warehouse management, inventory tracking, and logistics is necessary.
• Familiarity with the guidelines established by OSHA, DOT, and the EPA for compliance purposes.
• Demonstrated experience in leading warehouse teams and overseeing distribution operations.
• Experience in utilizing Microsoft Office programs like Excel, Word, and Outlook is crucial, with a preference for those with AS400/Mincron knowledge.
• Having knowledge in HVACR systems, selecting the right products, and effectively troubleshooting can be advantageous.
• Established reputation for achieving KPIs and delivering on performance objectives.
• It is essential to have a current driver's license.
