- Familiarize yourself with the workings of the Point of Sale system to effectively manage multiple tenders, rain checks, elaborate loyalty offers, and a variety of coupons and checkout processes that align with the company’s policies.
- Transfer the merchandise to the register by either sweeping it over the scanning window, utilizing a handheld scanner, or inputting the data manually using the 10-key pad.
- Gain knowledge about how the company handles its money and strictly adhere to these procedures to ensure loss prevention and honesty.
- Adhere to the directives governing commodities that are banned for sale, like Videos, Fireworks, Tobacco, and Alcohol.
- Prevent shrink by following established practices, including examining basket bottoms, meticulously scanning all items to ensure they are accurately accounted for, avoiding manual transactions, and adhering to established closing procedures.
- Carrying out transactions within the given timeframe to meet productivity markers.
- Ensure compliance with company policy by reporting any pricing discrepancies to the necessary department.
- Stay ahead of the game with the latest, forthcoming, event-specific, and exclusive promotions.
- Inform customers about all the company directives, such as Kroger Personal Finance, fuel points, customer service surveys, and fundraising requests, as part of your customer service responsibilities.
- Keeping the checkout area from becoming a mess involves the regular wiping down of all surfaces to maintain their cleanliness.
- Strengthen safety regulations by complying with established safety policies and promptly notifying store management of any potential hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Bring any accidents involving customers or employees to the attention of the management.
- Reporting safety dangers and unlawful activity, including robbery, theft or fraud, is crucial for keeping everyone safe.
- Uphold company protocols, as well as follow all laws and regulations implemented by the governing bodies at the local, state, and federal level.
- The proper execution of the rules and guidelines regarding the display of merchandise, quality service to customers, efficient cash handling, labor management, streamlined supply chain management, prevention of loss, maintenance of infrastructure, ensuring safety and food hygiene, increasing employee engagement, and enhancing customer interaction is of utmost importance.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM
- Successful finish of checker training obtained
- The aptitude to deal with stressors constructively while maintaining a sense of control is a valuable characteristic
- Effective communication skills
