Job Title: Maintenance Technician Supervisor
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician Supervisor to join our team at a PVC and plastic extrusion plant. The ideal candidate will be proficient in dismantling and reassembling equipment, troubleshooting hydraulics, and performing equipment repairs. Mechanical inclination and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics are essential. Candidates should possess at least two to three years of manufacturing maintenance experience and a strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures. Electrical knowledge with PLCs and experience with motors and 480 volts are required.
Responsibilities
Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
Troubleshoot electrical circuits to determine problems.
Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
Examine the form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, and straight edges.
Repair or replace defective parts (electric and mechanical) using hand tools and power tools.
Install special functional and structural parts in devices using hand tools.
Start devices to test their performance.
Apply a push or pull force of 100 lbs. and lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
Read blueprints.
Troubleshoot hydraulics.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
May initiate purchase orders for parts and machines.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Minimum of three years of electrical and mechanical experience
Minimum of three years of safety training
Ability to work with 110v to 480v electrical systems
Proficiency in troubleshooting hydraulics, gears, boilers, pumps, and PLCs
Experience with preventive maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, product manuals, and equipment manuals
Strong verbal and interpersonal skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school education or equivalent
Two years of technical school or related experience
Experience in a non-climate controlled plastics manufacturing environment
Openness to working rotating shifts
Supervisory skills and the ability to lead a maintenance team independently

Work Environment
This position is based in a non-climate controlled plastics manufacturing facility. The work environment includes exposure to various machinery and equipment. The maintenance team operates on two shifts: 3-11pm and 11pm-7:30am. Candidates must be able to work alone and lead the maintenance team independently.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of HUNTSVILLE, Alabama.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.
