Responsibilities:

• Maintain a clean and well-organized store, with clear signage and easy-to-navigate product displays. This can help customers feel more relaxed and comfortable in the store, and can also make it easier for them to find what they're looking for.
• Cultivate and maintain an understanding of the products available in the store and have the competence to deal with questions and make knowledgeable product recommendations.
• Given the responsibility to maintain a noticeable presence, exhibit approachability, and initiate conversations while offering assistance to customers.
• The check lane is designed to facilitate customer transactions, and we make sure that these transactions are processed quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Punctuality in regards to the scheduled shift is crucial.
• Verify the precise payment for the purchased items; distribute accurate change; manage checks, credit and debit transactions adhering to appropriate departmental paperwork and operational procedures.
• Gain a thorough understanding of the Point of Sale system, and proficiently navigate through various tenders, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures in compliance with company guidelines.
• Use any one of the following methods to enter sales data into the register: dragging the item across the scanning display, scanning it with a handheld scanner, or manually typing it in using a 10-key pad.
• Familiarize yourself with the company's cash handling operations and work with honesty and efficiency to minimize any potential losses.
• Understand and comply with the rules that oversee products with limited sales, including Alcohol, Fireworks, Tobacco, and Videos.
• Consistently perform inventory checks using methods such as inspecting basket bottoms, scanning all items to ensure proper inventory tracking, not processing manual sales, and following proper closing procedures to minimize shrink.
• Promptly completing transactions within the allotted time to achieve productivity targets.
• Abide by the company's guidelines and flag any incorrect pricing details for verification.
• Keep up with the latest, imminent, seasonal, and one-of-a-kind advertisements.

• Your task is to provide customers with information about the various company directives, such as Kroger Personal Finance, customer service surveys, fuel points, and fundraising requests.
• The cleanliness of the checkout area is a top priority, and wiping down all surfaces is necessary to achieve that goal.
• Reinforce safety procedures by strictly adhering to established safety protocols and identifying and reporting any unsafe conditions to store management.
• Notify the management promptly in case of any accidents with customers or employees.
• Any safety risks or illicit actions such as robbery, theft or fraud, need to be reported promptly to the relevant personnel.
• Ensure that you comply with company guidelines as well as local, state, and federal laws, to avoid any legal repercussions.
• It is essential to ensure that all the current norms for merchandising, customer service, cash control, labor control, expense and supply controls, theft prevention, maintenance, safety, food safety, employee conduct, and customer engagement are strictly followed.
• The person selected for this role is expected to carry out the necessary duties regardless of whether or not accommodations are provided.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM

• Checker training completed with finesse
• Being able to manage stressful situations successfully without succumbing to anxiety is a crucial quality
• Effective communication skills
• The ability to perform basic math operations accurately and efficiently is a valuable life skill that can benefit individuals in both their personal and professional lives
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role is mandatory for job performance
• You must be of legal age, which is 18 years or older, to be considered

• The acquisition of a high school diploma or equivalent certification represents an important stage in an individual's academic journey
